Court Ordered Community Service
Court Ordered Community Service Program (COCSP)
Bend’s Community Center is an official non profit site where people can complete court ordered community service hours. This program is for both adult and juvenile offenders who have been convicted of a crime, but are unable to pay their fines or other fees. This program is managed by BCC’s Administrative staff, NOT the Sunday Feed the Hungry program’s volunteer coordinator.
BCC is open seven days a week, so clients may complete their hours ASAP, and often without having to take time off from work. However, clients must be approved by BCC prior to being assigned to work.
BCC does NOT accept people charged with the following crimes:
• Sexual crimes
• Violent crimes
• Crimes against children
All Court ordered community service clients must follow the procedures below in order to qualify to complete community service hours.
- You must make an appointment with Kathy Restivo or BCC’s Administrative Officer and bring in your Court paperwork with your name, address, birth date, convictions, hours required, case number and parole officer (PO), if there is one.
- You must read and sign BCC’s Policies and Procedures form which states the program rules you are required to follow when doing your community service work.
- You will be given a card with your Case Number and other pertinent information that you must show to your immediate supervisor each time you sign in to work.
- You will be assigned to work at one of our three locations depending upon your job skills, age, crime and health, etc.
- You will be expected to perform the same high quality of work as any regular employee would perform. If you do not do a good job, you will not be allowed to complete your hours at BCC and your hours may be voided due to poor work ethic or attitude.
- You are required to do a minimum of a two hour shift each time you work.
- BCC tracks your hours through sign-in sheets. If you do not sign in and out, including lunch breaks, your hours will not count.
- BCC is a drug free environment. If you are susupected of any drug or alcohol abuse, BCC will infomr your PO immediately and you will not be allowed to fulfill your work hours at BCC.
- BCC does not do paperwork on weekends, no exceptions. You must contact BCC’s Administrative Office (Monday-Friday between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm) if you want to make an appointment, get proof of hours, letters to your PO or any other administrative tasks.
- You must request paperwork 24 hours (business days only) in advance of when you will need it. After hour and phone messages do not count.
For more information, please call Kathy Restivo, BCC’s Office Manager at 541-312-2069 (Monday-Friday between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm).
